Charles Beasley

Fifth generation West Texan: 

Great, Great Grandfather, Hon.  John Beasley, Missouri State Legislator, came to Texas in 1862. Settled in the northeast corner of McCulloch County, near Brady,

on the Colorado River in the area that became known as "Beasley Bend."  One of founders of Milburn, Tx. Elected McCulloch County's first County Judge. 

Great Grandfather, Andrew Jackson Beasley, one of founders of Mercury, Tx and the Mercury Baptist Church. Worked for Ft. Worth and Rio Grande RR. 

Grandfather, Walter Beasley, moved to San Angelo in 1914, fireman San Angelo Fire Dept. 

Father, Jack Beasley,  WWII veteran [36th Infantry ("Texas T-Patch") Division]  N. Africa & Italian campaigns. Decorations included the prestigious Combat Infantryman's Badge. Superintendent  of Streets and Bridges for the City of San Angelo 30 years.

Charles Beasley was born 1946 in San Angelo and a 1963 Graduate  of San Angelo Central High School at the age of 16.

1964: Attended San Angelo College receiving a Carr Scholarship.

1964-65: Employed as a Lab Technician at McKnight State Hospital in Carlsbad, Tx.

1965: Drafted into the U.S. Army-Small Weapons Infantryman, Parachutist, Parachute Rigger, Jumpmaster, Supply Sergeant - US Army 3rd Special Forces Group-Ft Bragg, NC 1967: Honorable Discharge; Rank Sergeant E-5

1967-71: Angelo State University-Bachelor of Arts in Political Science & History; Dean's List, Awards for Scholarship, and Leadership & Achievement 

1968: Kappa Xi Fraternity; 1968-71: Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity (President '69-'70)

1968-71:  Employed full time at Nathan's Jewelers while attending ASU full time and . 

1971-72: granted Teaching Fellowship by Angelo State Government Dept at Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State) in San Marcos

1974-75: Returned to  San Angelo and again employed by Nathan's Jewelers and became GSA qualified gemologist and diamond buyer.

1976: Left Nathan's to pursue photography full time and became owner Charles Photography.

1976-90: Served several terms as President of both the San Angelo Professional Photographers Association and the Concho Valley Professional Photographers Association.

1978-Present: only Official Photographer for Angelo State University Commencements
